Corus Cavern

Isis Cove

Can be home to characters.

Most know caves as eerie and quiet, water dripping from the walls. However the glowing eyes of those who live here can surprise you.

The Corus Cavern is a vast space that provides ample room for Ribinas to roam. The temperature in the cave can be cool, humid, or moist, depending on the weather outside. Families often congregate in the open spaces of the cave or take a stroll outside. The cave is usually quiet, but the echoes of a Ribina screeching can be heard from time to time. Candles and torches are placed throughout the cave to provide additional lighting.

However, after the curse was unleashed, the cave's environment changed drastically. Stalactites and stalagmites began to form, making the cave dangerous to traverse. Slippery and wet areas made Ribinas more susceptible to falls and injuries, resulting in many casualties. To ensure the safety of others, Ribinas have blocked off many of the dangerous and slippery areas with stones.

In addition to the physical dangers, there are areas within the cave where the essence of the spirits remains trapped in the walls. Stepping into these areas can create a strange presence that can cause Ribinas to exhibit aggressive behavior and display powerful magic that they never possessed before. This behavior usually begins with minor changes and gradually worsens over time. Ribinas may become easily agitated, irritable, and enraged, leading them to lash out and harm other Ribinas, including their own family and friends. It can take hours for Ribinas to return to normal, but the trauma and losses they've caused are irreversible.

Ribinas' dark-colored coats allow them to blend in with the dark environment of the cave, making it harder for enraged Ribinas to locate them. However, their enhanced vision and sense of smell make it easier to track other Ribinas. The only weakness of an enraged Ribina is a bright light, which can temporarily blind them as they are accustomed to the dark. Torches are typically used as a self-defense measure as they emit a bright enough light. However, candles, matches, and small flames are not bright enough to deter an enraged Ribina. If it is not sunny outside, Ribinas have to face the enraged Ribina or find a brighter area until they turn back to normal.
