Evoca Shoal

Isis Cove

Can be home to characters.

Sometimes confused with those from the Blurae Tides, these Ribinas live within the colorful reefs. They adapted blue coats to blend in with the water and hide from predators.

Evoca Shoal is a thriving reef that is home to abundant corals and fish. The Ribinas, who inhabit the reef, rely on hunting and gathering for sustenance. These skilled divers have an impressive ability to hold their breath underwater for extended periods. They construct their dwellings using sand, dirt, and grass, with ample space for comfortable living.

However, the peace and safety of the reef were disrupted when a curse was unleashed upon it. The curse resulted in the death of half of the corals, and the remaining ones were affected by possession, with one-third of them housing corrupted spirits. The Ribinas who perished in the reef also turned into spirits, roaming both in and out of the water. The corrupted spirits often try to manipulate other Ribinas, promising them special powers in exchange for their allegiance. Those who fall for their tricks ultimately lose their lives and become spirits themselves, with enhanced abilities. Those who refuse to comply are killed and transformed into spirits without any added powers.

The Ribinas who manage to escape the grasp of the corrupted spirits often seek refuge in underground tunnels, which vary in size and are equipped with multiple rooms for sleeping, eating, and relaxing. However, the larger the tunnels, the higher the risk of discovery and destruction by the spirits.

When hunting for food, Ribinas must exercise caution as some of the fish in the water are also possessed, displaying strange behaviors and even exhibiting poisonous tendencies that can be fatal if consumed. Those who consume a possessed fish can become seriously ill and may even die, eventually becoming spirits themselves and either finding their way to the cemetery or taking up residence in the possessed corals of the reef.
